Well, we're not going to play at Pepito's this friday. Even though the owner likes us we couldn't get past the music manager. Yes, Pepito's has a music manager. This guy wants us to guarantee that we'll have two hundred people there. Two hundred people in that tiny bar? Ken said the guy thinks he's going to have a line of people behind a velvet rope that goes around the block.
So, we'll play on Sundays so Jessica can get lots of tips. In the meantime, we're going to see if we can get into Lake Alice on their off days. We're also going to see who books the bands for Riverside's and Redlands' downtown markets. That would be great because there you have hundreds of people going by for the whole evening.
We need to get a permanent name. Casual Sunday was something we came up with on the fly because our first performance was on a Sunday and it was very, very casual. But it's a name that doesn't really work for the rest of the week. It seems like every band practice we come up with a name that doesn't quite work. My favorite so far is Paisley Pot Pie but it has the word "pot" in it so we're steering clear of that one.
We also need business cards and a demo. A fully comitted drummer would also be a plus. Paul is awesome but his main gig is the country band. If there's a booking conflict he's got to go with them. That's the one glitch in a sweet set up. We have a group of people who get along, are good musicians and who play fun music.
Two hundred people.
Bite me.

And where exactly would those 200 people park? Sheesh, we live just down the street from Pepitos and there has never been 200 people in there all at one time. Otherwise they'd be parking down by our house.
We'll have to come by and see ya'll play. :-)
Yeah, no duh! There is NO place to park. I don't think that guy wants us anyway. They're trying to turn the place into a Latino youth nightclub. We'll see how that goes.
Yes, do come see us play. Sometimes if we're very, very lucky and the planets line up just right, Jeff will show up and play some songs.
I thought of a name for our band today.
Two Hundred People
There's your guarantee. If we play at Pepito's on a Friday night, Two Hundred People will be there.
I really, really, really hope it fails as a latino youth nightclub. Not one of the youth nightclubs that have sprung up in the area in past years have been successful long term.
Better to keep it the way it was, steady customer base, music and pretty decent food.
I haven't seen Nuffy play in front of audience yet, so maybe the planets will line up.
Yeah, why mess with a good thing? The music manager didn't even want to Klones to play there and those guys can pack the place full. I think somewhere down the road reality will set in. It's too bad. They also got rid of our favorite bartenders.
Well, we're going to try to move on. Pepito's ain't the only gig in town.
Jeff is great with an audience. He tells good jokes. Yes, if the planets line up and if his sprinklers don't go haywire (that's why he missed this last show).
Love the name 200 people.
Ahhhh, the infamous raining on his parade~mechanical things are not the best friends of the O bros. But I love them anyway.
I think the name "One Hundred and Ninety-Nine People," has more irony.
How does this guy call himself a music manager? The place os no bigger than a McDonald's.
Virginia- The O bros. I like that. Good band name.
Jeff- Yeah, "music manager of Pepito's" doesn't inspire much awe. I'll bet it's the owner's loser brother and he gave himself that title. Dishwasher by day, music manager by night.
Ken said he went to Pepito's last night (May 12) and a lot of the regulars were there, and a DJ was playing some continuous-beat changing-song "crap" and nobody was dancing. Soon there was nobody there but Ken, Sherri and Jess's boyfriend. The owner was also there, and saw the DJ clear the place out. Maybe there's hope...
