WTF????

I came home after my Rube walk and fixed myself a lovely salad with salmon. When I took the first bite my jaw popped so hard I thought I had bitten down on a rock. With every bite it popped and cracked like I had rocks the size of marbles stuck in my jaw. DAMMIT!!!! This is awful! I yawned a little while ago and it went pop, pop, POP.

It's never done this before! This was totally out of the blue. And it's not just a little pop. It really feels like my bones are breaking to bits when I open and close my mouth. Right now I'm afraid to even speak. The left side of my jaw hurts.

Ok, now I'm pissed.

It's TMJ- I used to get that too. Carl had it so bad he had to wear a guard in his mouth at night. Get thee to a dentist!
That's wierd that it just popped up out of the blue.
Sorry to hear it Doni! Maybe it's stress related?

Uh oh. That's not a good thing. That's the thing that made Burt Reynolds lose so much weight people were whispering that he had aids. I'm going to do some Googling.

Dean- Thanks for the link. Good info there. After last night I was thinking I don't want to eat ANYTHING. I already have a supply of those low-carb shakes. Heh! So, my new diet should be low-carb shakes, eggs and soup!

Anne- I've been wanting to get a new dentist for a while now. I guess I'd better start asking around. To start I'm going to get some of those mouth guards I've seen advertized lately. Stress? Ya think??? :-)

Virginia- That's what I've been hearing, that it often goes away on its own. So, you wanna go to lunch at Panera? I've heard their French Onion soup is delish.

I walked to Panera (2 miles) and had lunch with Virginia. It's so good talking to her. For lunch I had the French Onion soup. Nothing too chewy there. She suggested that I hold onto the right side of my jaw while taking a bite. That actually helped!

Afterward we walked to CVS where I bought a mouth guard. I'll start using it tonight. As I was walking to the Plaza I noticed that I was clenching my jaw sometimes. So, I'm probably doing it more than I know. I'll work on breaking that habit.

Yes, there's a lot of catching up to do. I'm really enjoying it, Virginia.
