Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

I hope you all eat too much and laugh just enough.

We're going to Ken and Sherri's today. Tomorrow we'll be at Stacey's. The Lang's always do Thanksgiving the day after so we can have the whole day together and not worry about scheduling conflicts. We'll be grilling steaks (so traditional). Saturday we're opening the farm for a few hours so our friends can come pick up a free tree. We're not selling them this year. After everyone gets their tree the rest will be cut down and mulched. How totally weird will it be to see the hill denuded? No trees after thirty-something years! People are gonna freak!

Ok, ok, gotta go cook something.

Heh! I made a shrimp dish to take to Ken and Sherri's. It was CRAP! I used pre-cooked frozen shrimp, which I have used before with no problem, but this time it flavorless and rubbery. A total waste. Nobody ate it. Well, everyone tried it but no one had seconds. Oh well.

But we had a good time and the rest of the dinner was delicious. Afterwards we played games. A good time was had by all. Tomorrow we'll be at Stacey's. I was going to make that same shrimp dish but there's just no way. I think it would be really good if I used fresh shrimp but I just don't want to go through the trouble. Right now my kitchen is not a place for cooking. I'll call Stacey in the morning and ask her what I should bring.

Right now I'm going to Dad's for evening meds. When I was there this morning there was a trash can in his laundry room with a bunch of stuff sticking out of it. One thing caught my eye. Something unfamiliar and dangerous looking. It was a sword! I pulled it out and asked him where he got it and he said he's had it for years. In all my life I never saw a sword in his house. Guns yes, but never a sword. He took it from me and started waving it around. Ha ha. Jeez.

Bummer on the shrimp thing.

Games would have been fun, we used to play lots of games. The MIL would probably enjoy that if only we had a place to sit and play games!

Man, I hope the sword was in the trashcan cuz it was gonna be thrown away (instead of just handy for the next unsuspecting person that he thinks is an intruder).

I don't think the stuff in the trash can was meant to be thrown away but you can be sure he won't be owning that sword for much longer. It's easier to get things away from him now because the forgetting is almost constant. The moment he walks out of the room whatever he left behind just doesn't exist anymore. I haven't heard him complain about anything we've moved out or gotten rid of.

Time is running out. After Saturday I'm going to kick it into high gear. I was planning to move most of my stuff out on the 8th and 9th but maybe I'll hire a couple of kids on the weekend before. I just have a lot of heavy stuff. Plus we need to take down the ceiling fans and a couple of lights and I don't do electrical work. I need to move all my "outdoor elements". More heavy stuff. I'd better make a new list.

Please, please, please be careful with your elbow. Use a brace, eat Advil.
