PS And that first skinny vertical picture--Dede is leaning at just the right angle at the bottom to offset the rest of you leaning to the left--it balances just right. That's a really good photo.
Yeah, I had some good years there. That's one of my best photos.
That skinny picture is Photoshopped to the max. There was another set of kids going down the other side of the stairs and they were scrunched up against us. I had to rub out a lot of arms and legs.
One thing I really like about that photo is we all look like our kids.
Saturday was a good day. It started with a great family meeting at Stacey's. I'm always thankful for family meetings. It's good to share information about Dad and make our decisions together. I always feel more centered after those meetings and I'm so grateful that we sibs are such a strong team. I'm also grateful for their support. Good news. All my anxiety about where we're going to live once we leave the farm is gone. I'm getting a house and I can start looking right away. A huge weight has been lifted.
It was kind of funny. Since I've been taking care of Dad I've become the evil daughter who's been telling lies and has everyone completely fooled about his condition. Donita the evil mastermind, the evil genius. Yesterday they told me some more things that Dad has said. It really doesn't bother me because I know that's the Alzheimer's talking. He really can't see that there's anything wrong with him but there has to be a reason for all the stuff that's been going on, a reason for all this change and his loss of independence. ME! And I've got EVERYBODY fooled! BWAHAHAHA!!!!!
After the meeting we came back to the farm. Drew, Mindy, Stacey, Scotty, Dede and I worked in the barnyard filling up a huge dumpster. David took Dad away to run errands. He managed to keep him away all day. We filled that dumpster in almost no time. It was great! No picking through little bits here and there and NO fights with Dad.
And it was cooler than last time. The last time we wroked like that we went through several gallons of iced tea. This time we didn't even finish the first batch.
After that I went to the Odien's to hang out and play music. Their sister and nieces and nephew are visiting. Last night only the nephew was there with his new concertina. The rest of us played ukes while Virginia listened and worked on a beading project. It was a fun evening. Later Liam came home and we did a few songs with him. Virginia and I had a nice talk out in the yard.
Today it's part two of Fun With Odiens. The rest of the family will be there for a birthday barbeque. I'm gonna whip up a pot o' beans.
But first I have to deliver a monster fridge to Burbank!

You're all growed up. Cool to see the kid pics compared to the adult pics.
Hubba hubba--look at you in the teen years. That's a stone fox photo, Donita. And your sisters are no slouches, but you bonked 'em that year.
