This is how the Langs do the Rose Parade. Rent someone's front yard, bring two big trucks, put bleachers on them and invite the whole church to come along.
Doni the flower girl.
Mom and Dede. Beautiful woman, cute baby.
One of our wedding pictures. My mom made all the dresses and Jim's shirt. What a great day.
Peace cake. This is an old photo from one of our family albums. 1940's I think.
I think I'll do this every once in a while. Now that I know how to post photos it'll be fun to show some of the more interesting ones.

Mooooom! We look frighteningly alike!
Yep! Check out the wedding photo. Compare my face to my mom's from the nose down. That's you, too.
Actually, Lindsay, we have a picture of you sitting in that exact same chair. On one of the trips to Galveston we went to church with Nana and Jeanne and Herbie. It's the same church where Jeanne and Herbie got married (and my mom and dad). That chair was still there, still in the very same spot. We took your picture and one of me, too.
OMG, those are great photos...all of them.
Paige, yes, I can sooo see your mom in you. Come to think about it, I met your mom when she was just about 4 yrs older than you are now.
Wow, time flies.
Ha! How old was I? We should compare the pictures side-by-side. =P
Virginia- I think you're confusing Paige with Lindsay. Paige is almost Jim jr. And yeah, time files (dammit!).
Lindsay- I think you were about 2 years old. You were a little confused about why I wanted to take your picture in that chair. I couldn't get you to pose the same way.
ekubbztu- The unused Star Wars character.
look at those 70s clothes at the Rose Parade. It looks like a scene from Dazed and Confused!

Well, weren't we?
That is like the third time that I've addressed Paige when I meant Lindsey and for crying out loud, her username is right there for me to refer to. Gawd help me if I have Alzheimers.
Apologies to Lindsey!
I'm sure she'll get over it. Just don't ask if Paige is her daughter!
I promise I won't.
Hey, where ARE you in that picture of the rose parade? Gawds, those clothes take me back...if we still had them we'd be right in style again today.
Oh yeah, those clothes! And hair styles!
I'm sitting below the kids on the billboard right next to the guy in the white shirt with the bodacious sideburns.
I've seen this picture before and I can't believe that isn't you right in the center under the hat staring straight at the camera.

That's Doris, the pastor's wife.
Bodacious sideburns? Ye gawds. Boyfriend? Brother? It can't be Jim cuz you look too young (from what I can see). The styles when we first met were a bit different and if I remember Jim came into the picture during LP days or shortly after?
Har!!! You really don't recognize him? He's your own dear brother-in-law! I guess in this photo he would have been maybe 20.
Jim and I got together in highschool but we broke up a couple times in the early years. So this must have been one of those times when we weren't together.
Bwhahaha, now that I look at it, it IS him.
It didn't occur to me that it would be him cuz he didn't comment. Sheesh, if you had a pic of me from 1976ish, I'd be commenting about myself. LOL.
He's been scarce around these parts lately. I mean, I know he checks in because we talk about blog stuff on our walks. He just doesn't leave comments.
You hear that, BABoR?
Thats funny being a writer and all.
Yeah, he doesn't comment on mine either. He's not a very good blog conversationalist. LOL.
