Holy cow!

I'll start off by saying that Stacey is ok. She got into a bad car accident yesterday. She's ok and it wasn't her fault. The other guy and his passenger are ok, too.

Some guy pulled out in front of her as she was going 40mph down Van Buren. She had no time at all to react and t-boned the other car. The air bags went off. She's got a badly sprained ankle and some bruising from the air bag, but she's fine.

Ok, I'll write more later. I've been staring at a computer screen all day and I need a break.

So glad she's ok. I think it's kind of funny/odd how the hub knew about it so quickly just because our town is so smalltown and there is that 6 degrees of seperation thing.

I mean, really what are the odds?

Hi, Bob! I've been thinking about you lately. Sorry I've been out of touch. Ok, I'm calling you right now.

Ok, I called but you weren't home.

Virginia- Crazy, eh? Sometimes I'm amazed at how small town Riverside is sometimes. I never got around to finishing this post. Did Bill tell you about how I found out about the accident? Ok, I'm going to do a little cutting and pasting. This is from an email I sent to Dean.

Stacey got into a bad car accident yesterday. She's ok and it wasn't her fault. No one was seriously hurt, which is amazing considering she got blasted across Van Buren. She was in a rental car. That's the miracle of the whole thing. It was a little bit bigger than a mid-sized car. if she had taken the Mazda they offered her she would have been killed. if she had been driving her Suburban the other guy would have been killed. As it is she had a bruise on her chest from the air bag and a badly sprained ankle.

The way I found out was kind of funny. Yesterday was my long day. I worked all day and then went to school. Stacey had notified everyone of the accident by email but I wasn't home to read it. Last night, just before I went to class, I got my cell phone out to see what time it was. The little window said the phone was set on vibrate. I never set my phone on vibrate. I don't even know how to do it. When I don't want it to ring I just turn it off. I figured it must have gotten bumped or something and put it back in my purse and went to class. We had a test last night. A test I wasn't well-prepared for. Right in the middle of the test I felt the phone vibrating against the desk. I ignored it. Then a couple minutes later it went off again. This time I started to get worried. I couldn't concentrate on the test. All I could think about was getting the hell out of there so I could check my messages. I finished it in a hurry and left. Man, I KNOW I'm getting a bad grade on this one.

I went out to the quad and sat on a bench and dialed voicemail. The first one was Bill. "Why don't you answer your phone? (whiny. he does that) Well, I was just calling to find out how Stacey is. Ok, bye!" I'm like, oh shit! What happened to Stacey?? The second message was Bill again. "Oh, I forgot you're in class so that's why you're not answering your phone. Bye!" AAAIIEEEE!!!

I called Stacey right away and got the whole story. Bill knew about it because he's Brendan's teacher. After I got off the phone with Stacey I called Bill and chewed him out for ruining my test. Of course, it's not his fault but I chewed him out anyway.

I think there's something cosmic going on, like Mars is in retrograde or something. So many people I know have something shitty going on in their lives. Boy, 2008 is turning out to be a mixed bag.
